Summary
As part of the Digital Cultural Experience Project, our clients wanted an Extended Reality application to help achieve learning outcomes for Tasmanian primary and high school students. The finished product was required to convey themes of place, identity, and journeys relating to 19th Century Chinese migration in Tasmania.
The resulting application was an educational AR game which required students to use over forty 3D replicas (using photogrammetry) to match with stories and contexts. It delivered the learning objectives of giving students a better understanding of early Chinese migration, while allowing for a deeper connection to the history of their state through an immersive experience.
